'Ara mai he tētēkura'
Growing leaders
Waiariki Institute of Technology
10 and 11 October 2013
Tēnā koutou katoa e te iwi.
The theme of the wānanga was ‘Embedded Literacy and Numeracy Leadership’; supporting and developing embedded adult literacy and numeracy leadership by profiling research and researchers, practice and practitioners. The wānanga aimed to:
-
Grow leaders, research, and literature on leadership in adult literacy and numeracy
-
Illuminate and encourage the integration of Māori perspectives of literacy and numeracy into teaching practice
-
Reflect on appropriate pedagogy and methodology of embedded adult literacy and numeracy teaching practice and learning
-
Support collaborations and partnerships across education organisations and institutions that contribute towards building sustainability.
Draft programme.
Cost
In 2013 the TEC contributed to the wānanga expenses which allowed the National Centre of Literacy and Numeracy for Adults to offer it at no cost to attendees. This may not be the case in the future.
