Learning unit: Pythagoras Theorem

By Vince Wright

Pythagoras Theorem is important in many trades courses that involve construction, including surveying, building, drainage and roading design. These settings require adults to find the unknown length of one side of a right angled triangle give the lengths of the other two sides. The theorem requires an understanding of squaring and finding square roots with both whole number and decimal number measurements.
