You’ve downloaded a recipe from the internet that instructs you to set your oven to 375°F. Your oven thermostat is in °C. What temperature should you set your oven at?
The easy, non-thinking option is to go back to the internet and use an online converter of course! However, if you’re teaching a group of cookery students then this is the sort of conversion they will have to perform quite often. So it presents an opportunity to build their number sense and problem-solving skills.
