This is the third module in the on-line professional learning course that focuses on working with adults who are reading at entry-level. It is divided into two sections:

Section A: The four comprehension strategies to focus on in your teaching.

Section B: Teaching these strategies using authentic texts.

The texts used are from the Collections series. These materials can be downloaded or ordered in print from this website. There’ll be more about Collections in the final module in this course.

Throughout the module you’ll be able to watch short video clips of Dr Sue Dymock, Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Education at The University of Waikato. Sue has been a key contributor to the development of resources such as the Learning Progressions for Adult Literacy and both Starting Points guides.
