Remember that using models is an effective way to show what is expected. Almost everyone likes to see a model of a finished product, expecially when they are confronted with a new writing task. For example,

  • As you work with learners to improve their sentences, get them to look at well-written models of different types of sentences. Talk about what makes them effective.
  • Get them to write sentences for their own writing tasks using these models.
