The DVD entitled “Knowing your Learner, Engaging Māori Learners: an introductory resource for adult literacy and numeracy educators” is a teaching tool designed for educators working in the tertiary sector to help them better understand Matauranga Māori and models of practice that may assist with engaging Māori learners.

Some of the holistic teaching and learning practices common to the Māori culture are profiled in this resource. Models such as Te Whare Tapa Whā Durie (1998), Tuakana Teina, Ako and Pōwhiri Poutama are the key models explored.
