Charles Afeaki, the Literacy Programme Coordinator and Tutor talked about the courses he runs, which are based on Open Polytechnic programmes.
Like most tutors, Charles was already embedding literacy activities into his students’ vocational contexts. After diligently attending the NCLNA literacy embedding workshops, he is now adapting and applying even more embedded literacy into his classroom teaching.
During Claire’s visit, he outlined a specific embedded literacy activity he used that helped his students successfully generate ideas for a piece of writing, ‘My Story’ from a book called ‘Moving Forward”.
