Case Study: Giving Learners Control of Their Learning
|
Key words
purpose, informing learners, achieving learning goals.
Summary
This case study illustrates that by fully informing learners about the purpose of an assessment, and making time to discuss their results with them afterwards, we give learners the power to help themselves achieve their learning goals.
As a result of good communication between lecturer and learners, both were keen to use the diagnostic assessment as a means of providing direction for their learning and future study, and some valuable learning conversations took place while discussing the results with individual students.
