The Writing Investigations are specifically intended for use with those learners whose writing is still at initial steps.

The investigations derive from common, observed errors in learner writing. They are designed to provide a targeted account of particular points of weakness in learners’ writing.

The investigations have been designed specifically with those learners in mind who may be reluctant or anxious about writing. The activities are short and non-threatening, rather like doing a short quiz in a popular culture magazine or on a pop culture website. They are intended to establish structured, purposeful and productive interaction with the learner as well as providing multiple and independent observations on aspects of writing.
