Announcing the closure of the National Centre

After 8 years of proudly supporting the tertiary education sector and workforce the National Centre of Literacy and Numeracy for Adults will close with effect from 31 December 2017. As an internationally recognised Centre of Excellence we are very proud of having laid a strong foundation for lifting sector capability, building a professional development infrastructure and raising the profile of adult literacy and numeracy education for improved learner outcomes.

Since the National Centre’s inception significant progress has been made in sector capability building in Aotearoa New Zealand.  In order to capitalise on this momentum and be responsive to the needs of the sector a new framework and professional learning and development programme are being developed. For more information see the TEC news item.  We will also provide you with an update in our next newsletter.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support, all National Centre staff and team members who have contributed to our work over the years, the University of Waikato for hosting the National Centre, the TEC for their support, and the many stakeholders we have collaborated with.  We have greatly enjoyed and appreciated working with you all.
