The National Centre of Literacy and Numeracy for Adults at the University of Waikato marked UNESCO’s International Literacy Day 2017 with the announcement of the 2017 Adult Literacy and Numeracy Leadership Award.
The Award goes to a person who has made a valued contribution to the field of adult literacy and/or numeracy which has sector, regional or national significance and whose work benefits adult literacy and numeracy learners in Aotearoa New Zealand.
This year the Award goes to Mike Styles, Primary ITO’s National Literacy and Numeracy Adviser, in recognition of his untiring work in bringing dyslexia to the fore as an important issue for the tertiary education sector and the workplace.

Warm congratulations to Mike.
